HOLY ITEMS
Holy Items
Since our inception in 2012, we have supported the Church in The Gambia by supplying many Holy and Devotional Items (such as Rosary Beads, Holy Statues, Children's Bibles, Priests' Vestments and more).
The Catholic Diocese of Banjul, under the fine leadership of Bishop Gabriel Mendy, are always greatly appreciative of our support, as they rely heavily on donations from Catholic Charities like ourselves to be able to carry out much of their activities.

ROSARY BEADS
In partnership with the Catenian Association in England, as well as other donors, we are able to supply the Pupils of St. John's School for the Deaf, St. Patrick's Lower Basic School and St. Joseph's Nursery School in The Gambia with Rosary Beads. We have also been able to supply Rosary Beads to the Catholic Community in The Gambia, as well as in Sierra Leone.

These items are always greatly appreciated by those who receive them - and we are always looking for more Rosary Beads to ship to The Gambia for the Catholics there.

DELIVERING ROSARIES TO SIERRA-LEONE
On Project Gambia's recent trip to Sierra Leone, Paul Lafferty was able to visit a Cathedral there for Mass, to tell the Parishioners about our work with Deaf children in THe Gambia.
​
On his visit, the Administrator of the Cathedral was delighted to accept a donation of many Rosary Beads for the Cathedral Community. Sierra-Leone is another poor West African country.
​OUR LADY OF LOURDES GROTTO
Thanks to a very generous donation in 2019, we have made plans to Ship this beautiful statue of Our Lady of Lourdes to The Gambia, to be placed at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Banjul.
​
It is our plan to construct a Grotto at the Cathedral, and have it dedicated by Bishop John Keenan, Bishop of the Scottish Diocese of Paisley, when he accompanies us to The Gambia on our next Aid Mission.
​
It was our hope to have the Grotto in place by January of 2021, but this has sadly been postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
​
We are always greatly appreciative of any donation of Holy Statues - large or small, so please get in touch with us if you would like to learn more about this.
We are looking to donate a large statue of St. Patrick to St. Patrick's Lower Basic School, and so we have set up a Fundraising Page to raise funds to do this.

PRIESTS' VESTMENTS
Project Gambia were delighted to recently receive a donation of Priests' Vestments from Fr. Bill Bergin, a longtime supporter of Project Gambia, and from the Parishes of St. David's in Plains, St. Mary's in Caldercruix and St. Dominic's in Greengairs.

These will be greatly appreciated in The Gambia, as Vestments and other Clergy items are things that they really struggle for.
